The REACH Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 became effective on July 1st, 2007 and regulates the registration, evaluation, approval, and restriction of chemicals.
Physicochemical parameters
As a result of the physico-chemical requirements of REACh registration, we have expanded our range of services in this area continuously. We are able to carry out these tests in accordance with OECD guidelines as well as EU and UN methods. In addition, we are GLP-certified for categories 1 and 8.
The Institute is equipped with state-of-the-art analytical equipment and techniques. Therefore, the following physico-chemical parameters can be accurately determined – further tests are available on request:
- Sameness / substance identity profile (SIP) by means of UV/Vis, FTIR, MS
- Vapour pressure, melting or boiling temperature by means of DSC resp. TGA
- Relative density
- Surface tension
- Viscosity
- Partition coefficient octanol-water (Log POW) by means of HPLC
- Hydrolysis as function of pH
- Stability and solubility in acids, bases or organic solvents
In addition, unknown substances, e.g. from hydrolysis products, can be identified by means of UHPLC‑QTOF(MS) or GC-MS/MS. We would be pleased to provide a specific quotation according to your requirements.
